Coaching helps you to access and realise your full potential – as an individual and as a leader in the modern business world. It can be a challenging process, but also a life-changing one.

So who is coaching for?

There’s no definitive answer – but my clients are usually senior executives or entrepreneurs. They’re strong, driven, ambitious people with high expectations, both of themselves and others. What they all have in common is this: their usual methods of dealing with business challenges are not as efficient any more, and they want to change that.

When should I consider coaching?

If you or your staff are dealing with complex work environments, balancing demanding schedules with personal and family life, or you simply want to increase your capacity to deal with challenging situations, such as major change within your organisation, moving job, or starting a new enterprise or business unit, then coaching may just be just be the answer.

Why somatic coaching?

According to neuroscience, the somatic approach is the most successful way to develop the skills observed in effective leaders. The word somatic comes from the Greek word “soma”, meaning body and somatic coaching refers to a holistic approach that integrates the body, mind and emotions. While traditional coaching is often centred on linguistic learning (reading, writing, conversation), somatic coaching focuses on the physical and the idea that much of our behaviour is influenced by what happens in our bodies, particularly when we are under pressure. To change patterns of behaviour, we must first understand how our bodies affect our minds and emotions. By doing so, we can modify our physical habits to bring about sustainable change.

What is embodied learning?

Traditionally, learning has been an intellectual experience but embodied learning reintegrates the body and the emotions as essential elements in the learning process. The methodology was developed by Richard Strozzi-Heckler from the Strozzi Institute in California during the 1980s. Using his embodied learning approach, your body learns new ways of acting when faced with challenging situations – ways that are aligned to your values as a person and as a leader. With practice, you can embed this learning into every aspect of your being so that your actions are driven not just by your mind but also by your body and your emotions.

How is coaching customised to your needs?

I don’t believe in a “one-size-fits-all” coaching programme. Everyone is different and their coaching needs are unique. I will work with you to identify specific outcomes you want to achieve from your coaching experience. Together, we will design a programme that addresses your needs, using these outcomes to measure success. The programme will be responsive to your changing circumstances, ensuring it supports you on your journey towards effective leadership.

Is it really worth?

From my own experience, I know that coaching often feels like a threatening path to explore. That’s why it’s always such a magic moment when the inner observer truly comes to life, seeing that there are possibilities to be found in every situation, strength to be drawn from every anxiety. Self-development is an ongoing process. And with the help of coaching, it can become one of the most meaningful things you’ll ever do.
